High Availability VPN Solution

VPN site-to-site and remote solution with clustering solution and high availability features using the OpenSource Linux operating system Ubuntu 11.04 natty.

UTM Security Appliance

Network Security Unified Threat Management appliance embedded with Anti-X protection, URL filtering, Proxy server, basic network intrusion prevention system using SNORT, DHCP server and VPN remote & site-to-site VPN solution;  router, firewall all-in-one with OpenSource solution.,

IPCop www.ipcop.org/ and pfSense www.pfsense.org/ I found valuable OpenSource solutions available for SOHO network which incorporates all security basic requirements.

IPCop is a debian based linux security distribution and pfSense is a freeBSD based distribution. pfsense is based on FreeBSD 2.2 version and is more advanced than IPCop, as pfSense provided both load balancing and high availability. To present one of these solution anyone may use an old application rack mount server and may change logos to re-brand. Both these solution license permits to make changes in their distributions and may use with what you need.

Security SIEM

OpenSource security information event management using open source Linux operating system Ubuntu any version equal to 11.04 or higher.

Splunk free edition http://www.splunk.com/ can be use freely with minor limitation; for SOHO networks a daily limit of 500 MB logs is fair enough. Even if devices are greater in number than logs may filer specifically to limit and adjust with the available daily capacity of 500 MB limit.

Network Intrusion Prevention System

OpenSource network security solution for Network Intrusion Prevention System using OpenSource linux operating system Ubuntu 11.04 natty.
